Program Description:
China
Come and discover the "roots" of medicine in one of the oldest cultures in the world by traveling through China. Students will visit universities where scientists are doing research on the medicinal properties of plants that have been used for thousands of years to treat diseases that modern medicines have only in recent years addressed. Students will also visit hospitals and pharmacies where ancient traditional Chinese medicines are being used alongside western medicines.

PHAR 601 - Global Pharmacy Experience: The Study of Culture and Medicinal Plants of China*
 
*This course is listed in the Fall 2017 semester.

This course is led by Professor Dean Arneson of the School of Pharmacy. Professor Arneson has led numerous similar programs for several years, and is the best person to contact for questions about this program. 
 

Requirements

  • This program is open to all students who have successfully completed the first year of the Pharm D program.
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the institution.
  • Must register for the associated course. 
  • Must comply with all deadlines for applications, document submissions, meetings, deposits, and other payments.

Costs

  • Program Fees: $3,400*
  • Study Abroad Fee: $50
  • iNext Insurance Costs: $40
*This is an estimate. Final cost will be determined in early 2017.
