Join OT students as we go to a rural community in Nicaragua to provide hands-on service to those less fortunate. Learn about the Nicaraguan culture and way of life! Work side-by-side with a missionary nurse to discover how to serve others and serve Christ through this life-changing experience!

Students who join this program will be required to register for one of the following courses:

DPT 763- Global Education Occupational Therapy
These courses are listed in the Fall 2017 semester.

Travel Dates

This course is led by  Dr. Wendy Goldbach, Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy.


  • The course is geared toward OT students, but students from the School of Education or Social Work program are welcome to apply.
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the institution.
  • Must register for one of the associated courses. 
  • Must comply with all deadlines for applications, document submissions, deposits and other payments.


  • Program Fees: $1,000-1,300
  • Tuition (3 credits)*
  • Study Abroad Fee: $50
  • iNext Insurance Costs: $40
*For full-time undergraduates, there is no additional charge for tuition as long as the 3-credit course does not put you over 18 credits for the Spring semester.


Included in the Program Fees are:
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Airport transfer and ground transportation
  • Luggage fees for up to 1 checked bag1 under 50 pounds (only one checked bag is recommended)
  • Lodging
  • Travel visa
  • Some meals*
Not Included:
  • Fees associated with obtaining a valid passport*
  • Personal expenses
