Program Description:
Romania
Experience European culture while exploring the healthcare and socioeconomic landscape of Romania. This global education course will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it the most. You will be working with a local organization to improve the health of HIV & AIDS patients, children in foster care, the homeless, abused girls and Roma (gypsy) residents. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap in health disparities. Enrich your life with this unique life-changing adventure and "bite" deeper into the culture of Romania with a trip to Dracula's castle.

Leaders

This course is led by Prof. Mihaela Zegrean of the Ann Arbor School of Nursing, who was born in Timisoara, Romania and has gone back to visit many times. Please contact her with any questions about the program.
 

Requirements

  • This program is open to all CUAA nursing undergraduate students who had completed NURS 316 & 317
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the institution.
  • Must register for the associated course (no auditing). 
  • Must comply with all deadlines for applications, document submissions, deposits and other payments.
NOTE: Space is limited to TEN students on this program. Simply meeting the program requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program, especially if there are more than ten applicants. Students will be selected based on seniority, GPA, compliance with payment deadlines, and strength of application. 

Costs

  • Program Fees: $2,500*
  • Tuition (3 credits, summer tuition)**
  • Study Abroad Fee: $50
  • iNext Insurance Costs: $50
