Costa Rica Title Header
Pura Vida! We would like to invite you to join us on the 2019 Global Perspectives trip to beautiful Costa Rica! NURS 451/MSN 892 is a three-credit course that satisfies Concordia University’s global education graduation requirements. Please note that this trip is strictly a cultural immersion experience, not clinical. No graduate nursing clinical hours will be awarded to nurse practitioner students on this trip.

The Costa Rica course and trip will be led by Dr. Janet Levey and Prof. Wendy Crary. You’ll find it a valuable experience in which undergraduate and graduate nursing students have the opportunity to travel together and immerse themselves in a culture unlike their own. Students are exposed to cultural exchanges, language immersion, and adventures throughout the trip. Tours of hospitals and clinics, along with discussions with Costa Rican health care professionals, are offered to help students gain insight into the different aspects of healthcare in Costa Rica. Tours of museums, churches, culturally significant sites, and the tropical rainforest help students understand Costa Rican traditions and customs, and allow them to witness the full range of the country’s natural beauty. Multiple hands-on cultural learning experiences are offered, including participation in a service-learning project. This unforgettable adventure will provide an impactful cultural experience, enriching students’ lives – academically, professionally, and personally.
