Basics
Universities of Applied Sciences – in German “Fachhochschulen” (FH) – are practically-oriented university-level institutions preparing students optimally for their careers. The aim of Austria’s Universities of Applied Sciences is to provide a more practice-oriented education to complement the range of courses offered by traditional universities.
Even though in most university programs in Austria courses are taught in German, the University of Applied Sciences offers quite a variety of courses in English for exchange students. There are currently more than 300 individual courses delivered in English, in all variety of disciplines.
The School of Management is located in Steyr, Austria, a historic European town with an almost completely intact medieval city center. The school’s campus is located in the heart of Steyr, right where the Steyr River flows into the Enns. Its many waterways and bridges symbolizes the need to reach out to other parts of the world and we are continually meeting this challenge in our international activities here.
The university has an International Office with staff who will be happy to help you throughout the semester. There is also an International Student Association, which organizes independent trips and cultural events for the many international students at Steyr.
Since this is an exchange program, you may get the chance to meet students from Austria on our campus, typically during the Spring semester. If you'd like to speak to a student from Austria before selecting the program, please contact Concordia's International Center.<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6Q6-kKPB7FA" width="560"></iframe>

Housing
Students who study in Steyr will have their housing arranged by the International Office in Steyr. Typically they arrange apartment housing near the campus with other international students, and the cost is approximately $350 per month. The apartments are arranged, but not run, by the school.
Costs
Since this is an exchange program, Concordia students need to pay the same tuition they would at Concordia for a full semester. Other costs such as housing, airfare, passport and visa, meals and personal expenses need to be paid independently by the student.
